GBWR Season Domestic Rules
2007/08
- All playing clubs must register with the League Director by the deadline laid out before the season starts. The season will run until the conclusion of the National Games.
- Any club that registers and then withdraws will forfeit their league registration fee if applicable, this will be determined by the Senior Management Team (SMT). Any financial support already provided may need to be refunded.
- All persons participating in a GBWR recognised tournament must be members of the Organisation, and agree to it’s policies and code of conduct; available on request.
- New players – defined as someone who has been involved in the sport for less than one year from the time they are registered as a member. Clubs must give three weeks notice of a new player attending any GBWR event. Leniency will only be given in exceptional circumstances.
- All players must be registered with a club, and their name, classification and shirt number appear on the team list before the season starts. The official team list must be presented at all tournaments, a fine of £10 will apply if a team list is not presented or adhered too, and should be paid to GBWR before being allowed to compete.
The only exception to this rule are where new players are involved.
- Guest players will be allowed, but all games involving them will be void. This rule is designed to develop teams, and should only be used with this purpose in mind. Teams may be asked to define in writing how they aim to achieve this.
- 4.0 point players are allowed to play, however any games that affect qualification for the Europa Cup while playing this player will mean the team will not be able to qualify. However the result will stand within the domestic season, and the next highest valid ranked team will qualify. The National Games are GB’s qualifying tournament.
- A player may only make one transfer during the season between teams. Notification of any changes that occur mid season must be sent in writing from the Team Secretary to the League Director, and cannot be carried out until ratified. An amended team list/s will be issued.
- All players must supply a valid classification card at the start of play. Any player failing to do so, will only be allowed to play at the discretion of the Head Referee/Organiser and with the agreement of the opposing team's captain, at a class agreed by them. A fine of £10 will apply and should be paid to GBWR before being allowed to compete.
- Any protest regarding the technical nature of the game must be made according to IWRF Rules. At tournaments where a protest committee is not present, details of the protest must be submitted in writing within seven days of the match in question to the League Director. GBWR or a sub committee thereof will then seek evidence from other parties and decide on the outcome of the protest. An appeal against this decision by either teams coach is then permitted, in writing or in person, to the SMT. After an appeal their decision is final.
- The league will be decided on a points system, no extra time will be played. A team will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Full Tournament or league results will be collated and published in the Newsletter / website or distributed appropriately.
If at the end of all games a tie on points exists, the final placings will be determined by the following until resolved :
a) Goal difference in the game/s that involved both or all the drawn teams.
b) Lowest number of "Sin Bin" offences in the game/s that involved both or all drawn teams.
b) Lowest number of total "Sin Bin" offences over the tournament for both / all drawn teams.
c) The toss of a coin.
Organisation of Tournaments.
- All events must be co-ordinated by one nominated individual. Unless otherwise stated, the team's secretary will be responsible for leasing with the League Director for the smooth running of all aspects of the tournament. The League Director is to kept informed at all times regarding organised tournaments.
- Cancellation, postponement or other changes must be given to the League Director this will then be circulated to all concerned.
- Details of the proposed time, place and schedule for a tournament must be sent to all parties involved at least five weeks in advance.
- Wherever possible, the court layout and playing equipment must conform to current International Rules. Variations to the court layout may be allowed for specific reasons e.g. safety. However any variations must be brought to the attention of the Head Official / League Director who will have the final decision as to whether the court is suitable to be played on.
Mandatory : Digital Timing Device & Scoreboard, Both must be visible by players on court. Table and 3 Chairs, and a Direction Indicator.
- All teams should attend with escorts, it is not the officials responsibility to undertake team staff tasks. Teams can co-operate to share escorts, but this not preferable to each team organising sufficient staff.
- All teams should attend with two strips, one light and one dark colour, and wear regulation clothing. It is the responsibility of the home team to change if shirt colours are similar.
- All teams are to provide personnel to assist with Official duties if required. Details of these personnel are to be forwarded by all teams, to the League Director prior to the commencement of the tournament. Teams are to ensure that both these personnel are adequately trained in Table Official duties. Failure of teams to provide nominated officials will result in that team receiving a £10 fine for each official they do not provide.
- Tournament facilities must have access to toilets and a cafe. If food and drink is not available then it is the responsibility of the home team or organiser to provide refreshments. Refreshment facilities for the Officials must be provided throughout the duration of the tournament.
- At the end of a tournament team secretaries are to ensure that all score sheets are forwarded to the League Director.
The SMT reserves the right to decide on all penalties resulting from any infringement of these rules. Any matter not covered by these rules or the GBWR guidelines or policies, will be determined by the SMT.
